Decision Enhancement Services: Rehearsing the Future for
Decisions that Matter: After long delays, this
book, co-authored wth Professor Henk Sol with contributions by
Zenlin Kwee. The focus of the book is on decision enhancement – the
extension of decision support – for those decisions that really
matter, through studios that combine technology "suites" of
distributed (rather than just centralized or single site models)
dynamic visual simulation tools and skilled facilitation, and
attention to the decision process rather than the decision
"solution."
The book includes many "vignette" case examples from both the
private and public sector. Three chapters are included on

Great Teas for Everyday Pleasure: Beyond the Tea Bag:
This book is addressed to the many people who enjoy black teas
like Earl Grey and English Breakfast or drink green tea for
its health benefits. They are unaware of the literally thousands
of great loose leaf teas that are lower in price, far more
flavorful and very varied. They do not know about oolongs, for
instance, or Iron Goddess of Mercy, Golden Monkey, Spring
Pouchong, Kukicha, Oriental Beauty and Genmaicha, let along the
more exotic Hairy Crab, White Peony or Jasmine Pearl,, all
of which cost around 20 cents a cup. Extracts, photos and
contents are available on peterkeengreatteas.com.
PUBLIC SPEAKING AND MANAGEMENT EDUCATION:
While the majority of Peter's consulting and public speaking
is still in North America and Europe, he is increasingly active
in and interested in expanding his work internationally. He is
currently completing the field testing of a new ideas and
practical tools for action, developed with his colleague, Ronald
Williams, that helps managers at all levels re-focus their
thinking about real transformation of the organization to
position their company to position to compete in the
customer-driven, globally-connected economy or, in the public
sector, to position their agency to provide radically new range
and quality of services. The programs draw heavily on research
and practice. Central themes are the nature of effective
business models, reconfiguration and new sourcing of
organizational capabilities snd the timing, mode and focus of
mobilization of the culture. Components have been successfully
delivered in a number of university graduate and executive
education programs and ones for senior military officers,
telecommunications companies, multinationals and financial
service companies.
OTHER NEWS:
A date that is his own personal millestone is that June 2008
marks Peter's 45th year of continuous active work in the IT
field. While the technology and its applications have obviously
changed across the board, the management and organizational
issues and challenges remain basically the same in '08 as in
'63. But now they have, like everything else, Gone Global. |
